Welcome to Android Forums!

If your phone has been water damaged, you are wise to leave it OFF. Never attempt to turn on a wet phone - you WILL damage it more!

Your bet bet is to place the entire phone in a ziplock bag 1/2 full of uncooked rice and seal the bag shut. If the battery is removable, remove it. Definitely remove any SIM and SD cards. Let the phone sit in that rice for 24-48 while the rice absorbs the moisture out of it. After 24 hours, check the phone for any sign of moisture: if it still seems wet, leave it for another 24 hours.

After the phone has dried, turn it on with fingers crossed and hope that there was no permanent electrical damage. I have successfully saved phones this way, but it is not a guarantee of success. Good luck.

It's great to have you here :)
