HTC Weather App Question

So here is the problem that I have. I am not sure how does the classic HTC weather app work. The one you get on all new HTC phones. The clock + calendar + weather broadcast, you know what I mean?

Some people say I fees you for every update of the weather it makes, some say it's fee free, and you don't play anything for the updates of the weather.
What is the 100% correct answer, when I called HTC service on their hotline for support the guy told me it 100% free. But it was a bad signal so maybe I didn't hear everything so good.

I know that my mobile Garmin XT connects to a satellite and does a constant update of the map and my driving and it's 100% charge free, no fee, no cost, nothing. I also have a digital clock in my room that has a weather option like the HTC and it does regular updates via his weather satellite and it's free since the day i bought that digital room clock.

So i asked my self, why would this be any different. Can anyone tell me the answer, someone who know the correct and proved answer. Is the HTC mobile weather app free? Or does it really cost every time it makes a update of the weather on the phone?

what do you mean by cost? as in money or data used to update it. For them to charge they weould put before you use it fees apply do you want to continue. To answer they dont charge you money but it does use data to update the weather.

I mean the update of the weather, when the phone does it's updates does that update have a charge? I mean does that update of the weather fee me in money?

So? Will anyone give me the full answer now? I hope this isn't a hard question, since most people in the HTC service don't know the correct answer...

Turn you wifi and data off and you'll see it can't update so the answer is yes it does cost you in internet charge because it needs your data conection on or wifi on to work.

Lets simplify this for you.

Imagine that you live with your mother on one side of town and the weather station is on the the opposite side of town.

Your mother asks you to go to the weather station to find out what the weather is going to be like.

So you catch a bus near your house and travel across town to the weather station.

Once there, you ask the kindly old weather man what the weather is like and he gladly tells you.

You then hop on a bus back home and tell your mother what the kindly, old, weather man has told you.

Therefore...

Mother = your phone

Bus = data transmission

Kindly, old, weatherman = weather information

So the only cost for you to get the weather information is your bus fare.

However, if your father works for the bus company and you get free bus travel (the equivalent to a data package on your contract... check your contract with your service provder) then the weather information is entirely free.

Hope this helps. :D
