HTC Wildfire S spruce up

Hello All,

Having had to return my company phone recently, I got myself a personal SIM and resurrected my dinky little old (and much loved) Wildfire S.

I am really enjoying the phone but as it is on an ancient version of Android [2.1.1] I think - Google Play won't install or work - and without Play, new apps cannot be installed or existing ones updated.

I have seen threads on getting Google play to work (eventually) but I would rather see if I can bring this little phone into the future instead!

I recall a colleague managed to speed up the processor clock from 600mhz 800mhz. I wish to look into this if anyone can supply any pointers?

Also, I know this phone had issues with the partition size and a lack of space for the operating system and APPS - anyone have any guidance on this please?

Finally, the possibility of installing a newer OS - such as 4.4 - is this possible and are there any considerations? (Like things that worked on 2.1.1 won't work with a newer version).

Many thanks
Joe
