HTC Wildfire S vs. LG Optimus V

I don't plan on rooting my phone as I'm not good with tech and computers beyond the absolute basics, and I was wondering what people thought was the better of the two phones? Again, I won't be customizing, rooting, etc., so recommend based off what you know and have experienced with the two phones.

I'm leaning towards the HTC, as I love the way it looks and the small size, plus I saw a video on Youtube of the two phones running angry birds side by side and it ran the game smoothly, while the Optimus was choppy. However, all the reviews say the Optimus is better in almost every way, including running games better. The Optimus seems to be better reviewed no matter what site I go to, but I can't really see why. The HTC seems to have a sharper image, better screen, better size, and runs apps better.

Thoughts? I've seen similar threads to this on other sites, but the answers seem to always be in favor of the Optimus because of the rooting. Is it still the better phone without rooting?

If you don't plan on rooting, then
i'd recommend the Wildfire S. I have an unlocked version and it's worlds better than my old Optimus T(same phone as the Optimus V. Just on tmobile) . It is way faster, doesn't lock up as much, and it plays simple games like angry birds smooth as butter. But, it comes down to what you decide to get.
