Right now I am a sophomore in High School. This year, I don't have any computer classes, but I want to learn how to design websites. What I currently want to do is learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, Flash, and some programming in that order. I've tried w3schools, but it hasn't worked for me. It taught me the bare basics, but I haven't been able to learn much more than that. What I want to know is what books you guys recommend for me, as when I come out of college, I want to be a systems administrator/web designer, and having a working knowledge of html would make the classes easier and faster. The reason for programming is to automate some of the more basic tasks so I don't die of boredom. I'm fine if it takes me a while to learn them, but having the knowledge would just make me feel smarter. And as a side note, I also wish to learn the workings of the Windows Command Shell, the Linux terminal, how to program fully, and just general computing stuff that will make my ability to act as a guerrilla tech support agent easier and faster. My entire timespan for all of this is like 10-15 years to have learned it all, so don't say I've bitten off more than I can chew, because this is something that I want to take into a carrier, and something I'm willing to work at, because, frankly, I find it fun to tinker and fix computers.
