Htpc?

Have been looking at the Acer Revo 1600.

Just something small and cheap to load XBMC onto. Doesn't need to be flash as all I will be using it for is flac music and downloaded TV shows.

Problem is, this is proving a very hard product to find. So I am looking for any additional suggestions.

Cheap and easy.

well i looked and had three links posted, then when i hit submit reply, the forum froze on me....

oh well...

here is what i remember...

tigerdirect.com has it for $190

both newegg.com and amazon.com have it for $200

hope that helps

Actually for a decent htpc, $200 is a really great price. You could probably build something for the same price range give or take $50-$100, but overall it'll be bigger. Good thing about this one, is the small size. As well as on the Ion system, so it doesn't use as much power.

Size isn't really an issue for me. Have plenty of space.

Any suggestions on components and parts?

As I say, only needs to play flac, have a nice UI, handle HD TV shows and have a very nice UI, ideally customizable.

I built my own a couple months ago. It cost around $500. Here are the specs

ZOTAC GeForce GF9300-K-E ITX WiFi LGA 775 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Intel dual core 3.06 ghz processor

1.5 TB Sata hard drive

4g Ram

DVD burner

Mini ITX case

I could of built it for around $100 cheaper if I had went with the Zotac Intel ION motherboard and 2g of ram. The 4g of ram is overkill for what im doing with the computer if I had known it ahead of time I would of went with 2g. Im running Linux Mint 8 for the os with XBMC to play my movies and keep track of my library. I have 199 movies right now. Alot of them are dvd rips and some blueray rips. With the space the os, programs and movies take up I still have around 1 TB of space left. I have been very happy with it. I bought the mother board from amazon. Everthing else came from tiger direct.

Edit to add: This is the first computer I have ever built. It wasn't hard at all.

The Zotac IONs are very nice and powerful for what they are.
