Huawei P30 Pro first day battery drain. Is it normal?

Hello guys.

I just bought today my p30 pro.

I opened it and the battery was at 64%.

I setup my phone etc for some time and the batterywent after some hours to 50%.

Then I put the phone aside and picked it up after about an hour and the battery was at 42%.

Nothing was happening at the background, no downloading no synching etc.

Is it something normal because it was the first usage of the phone after opening it? After the first fully charge I will give it, is it something that will not happen again?

Thanks in advance.

I think it's normal, things usually go better after a couple of charges.

Huawei phones have the best batteries, that's what I can say, you don't have to worry about the battery quality.

I hope so...

Thats the reason i bought the P30, the battery.

My last 2 phones were samsung s8+ and note3, excellent phones but after a couple of years the battery on samsung its just not the same.

I gave it its first fully charge and its still on 100% after 2 and a half hours, just sitting there with about 10-15 minutes in call.

Im just waiting to see if its draining the battery but for now it looks good.

After the big drop off to 42%, it was loosing 1% just sitting every 1.5/2 hours and i know this is not logical for a battery king phone like P30.

Lets hope then tha things will stay good after the first charge i gave it.

If battery is your big concern, I recommend the free accubattery app which can monitor and report almost everything about your battery. Especially how much charge the battery can hold after XX months of use compared to its original capacity.

Is it normal to have that high% at cell standby?

Is it normal to have that high% at cell standby?

It depends on how you use your phone's data and wi-fi, you can try the following to reduce cell standby consumption

1. Always use wi-fi whenever possible.

2. Wi-fi should be turned off when phone is not in use (can be set in the wi-fi settings page).

3. Disable auto-sync and live wallpaper...

I've found my P30pro used battery s lot on the first 2 days, but also had numerous updates, including multiple Android updates and several GB of apps & data.
Now I've organised most stuff and limited most of the background sync'ing it's going 3 days to only get 50% with quite a bit of use in that time.
