Lurker
Hi folks. This is my first time posting on AndroidForums, but I have had such great success with Verizon Customer Service that I thought I'd let you all know.
Let me start by saying that I haven't paid for a Verizon phone since my LG Voyager. My voyager started having issues, and I called customer service, and they sent me a refurb, as you all know. I, like most people, had issues with the refurbished device, and went through five more of them. By that point, they had stopped making Voyagers, so they sent me an enV touch. I had to get that one replaced, too. After I had issues with my second enV touch, I nicely told the manager at my local Verizon store that if they couldn't get me a phone that worked, I was going to switch to a different provider. Upon hearing this, Dominic, wanting to keep my service, told me I could pick any phone I wanted as long as I didn't switch. I chose a Droid, which was the best smartphone Verizon had at the time. I've refurbed four Droids since then, and I called today to refurb my sixth. I got an extremely nice lady who, when I mentioned how many I've been through, got really upset about my problem, and wanted to make me feel better. She called her supervisor, and thirty minutes later, shipped me a Droid 2, free of charge.
Sorry for the wall of text. The moral of the story is, even if you have the slightest problem with you phone, call your provider. They might be willing to replace it, free of charge. And if you replace enough of them, you might get a better phone for free. What do you have to lose, other than time?
