Has anyone on here used that? I'm wondering if that could be the solution to wifi plus vpn. How much does it cost?

From what I've read, it's very expensive, has quite a limited data allowance. And also satellite internet can have a very high latency, mainly because the data has to make a 72,000 km round trip, up to the geostationary orbit satellite and back. I think it's what you might use, if there's absolutely nothing else available.

What should I get instead? I don't want to pay a lot, maybe 50 a month. I'm probably going to have to get WiFi and vpn, ideally combined.

Depends on your area, every city has different companies for ISP service and there are usually only 1 to 3 options.

If you don't live in a city Starlink is good for satellite, but it's not available everywhere yet and is $99/month.

"WiFi and vpn"??

If you got a bad internet connection, and you're looking for an alternative. like satellite or whatever, I'm pretty sure a VPN will NOT help you. VPNs are mainly used for privacy, and to tunnel through firewalls and censoring, which is what I use them for(Astrill and Express). And WiFi is a completely different thing of course.

I just want to be able to connect to the internet without having to pay a separate monthly charge, and have online privacy. I've had to use centurylink for lack of anything better. I don't want to put up with Comcast either.
