Soooo... First charging cycle yielded about a 1.3% per hour average discharge rate with my settings and usage pattern. I realize this is a similar post to my first but I'm going to try to qualify the settings and usage and let BBS quantify the results.
I deleted all of the Samsung bloatware apps that I'd never use anyway. I turned off all of the background auto functions except the important ones like e-mail, text and phone. I set juice defender to allow connectivity whenever I activate the screen. This allows the background stuff to happen naturally. Juice defender is also set to hourly connectivity during the day in case I'm busy and don't touch the phone. This way I get e-mails and facebook updates at least every hour. It also disallows connectivity while I'm sleeping. This gave the phone a 0.3% discharge rate on standby at night! Nice to wake up with as much battery as you went to bed with ....
I locked the retina burning screen brightness to about 50% and turned off the animations. Cute, but useless .... I also switched to a jet black wallpaper.... neat, clean and functional.
I'll add to this as I remember things.
Ahhh yes....Google Locations and other GPS-based stuff. Unless you think it's important for the world to know where you are ALL the time just disable all location reporting until you need it. For example ... I use Google Calendar daily in my work. When I need the turn-by-turn navigation I just enable GPS via the widget you see on my home screen then turn it back off when I'm finished.
End of first night ....
