I always thought matte and anti-glare were the same thing. I was wrong.

I just received 2 screen protectors from eBay, both were advertized as anti-glare and anti-fingerprint while one was also listed as anti-grease. I always thought that all of these types were matte. I just ordered the 2 types because they were made by different companies (both China cheapies but I still wanted to compare).

I peeled back the front cover of one of them to feel it and it is completely smooth. It does resist fingerprints a little more than the phone screen but not much. The other one is the same one I've ordered in the past so I know what it feels like. It has a kind of paper feel to it and while it is fingerprint and dust proof, it does leave some smudges but nowhere near as bad as a glossy screen. It's actually a true matte protector.

I am actually surprised at the quality of the
1
matte one for the price and I love the texture.

So if you want a real matte screen protector make sure it actually has the word matte or anti-grease in the description. Oh well I'm only out a few dollars so no big deal.
