I cannot do fastboot commands. Please help, I've been doing this all day!

My device is a One Plus One. I've installed an ADB driver from here: adbdriver (some site I've searched up on google) (Is this even safe? I've never seen anyone use this link before or maybe it's new. It's not a virus is it?)

So once I've installed it, I've typed all commands such as adb while my device is turned on but then when it gets to where I have to press my powerbutton+volume down and then go into the recovery screen, I see "Cyanogen Recovery" or whatever but that's what it says. Suddenly on my computer, the ADB device disappears altogether and I cannot see my One Plus One storage anymore (it's connected and even If I unconnect and reconnect it's still the same). I believe I've unlocked my phone already before so is this why? I just want to make sure and type fastboot oem device-info but when I type that nothing comes up. I've been trying to solve this and I don't know what to do anymore... Is it because I've already unlocked my device (but even I'm not sure if it's still unlocked and that's why I'm trying to confirm it by typing "fastboot oem device-info" which doesn't even work. Help please!

Apparently you've gotten ad far as unlocking the bootloader and installed Cyanogen Recovery. That's good. Can't tell how far you've gone beyond that.

If you simply power off and power on, a ordinary restart, does the phone boot normally into a usable state? If not, what do you see?

If you go into Recovery what do you see? If you successfully loaded a ROM it should be a choice in Recovery. Select it and try to boot up.

If no ROM is available, then obviously you have no OS yet and you must load one. Go back to the instructions you've been following. Start at the next step after installing a Recovery, follow the instructions carefully and load a compatible ROM.

Of course, I'm assuming you have correct instructions for your 1+1 and downloaded the correct Recovery and ROM.

No offense intended, but readers of this who may be contemplating rooting, please, realize these problems are a perfect example of not doing your homework first. Before rooting do a LOT of reading. Make sure you understand the process and the terminology. Have a plan for recovery in case things go bad.. Sorry, but clearly you did not do these steps, and the result is a cry for help.

Well, I have good news. I must've written mis-information yesterday since I was kind-of rushing the post. But that's all in the past now and I really did my homework though by looking up all of these articles. Finally, my phone is rooted and all is normal again. Turns out, nothing actually went wrong but I was actually not in fastboot mode (VOLUME UP+HOLD Power) does not work on my phone & instead I was inside Cyanogen Recovery so when I typed 'fastboot devices' it did not work because I was not in fastboot mode. I noticed the 'load bootloader' or 'reboot bootloader' or similar button on the Cyanogen Recovery menu and pressed it. WA-LA! It entered into fastboot mode and from there the process sailed smoothly.

I believe that Cyanogen Mod. updated the way fastboot works (last time I could press VOLUME UP+Hold Power) and it would load into fastboot but now you have to enter Cyanogen Recovery first. Well, I actually entered Cyanogen Recovery before all of this. But anyways, that's confusing just know that you have to enter the Recovery screen and then reboot into the bootloader (for future readers). Thanks so much for your help!!!

Oh and one last question,
I got an ADBDRIVER on adbdriver.com, is that site and software safe? I've never seen it being mentioned on any guides so could you assure me or do you not know?

Glad you found the problem and the fix was so easy. So many times things clear up if you step back, relax, do a little reading and do some simple, basic things to determine your situation. Notice I did not give you any adb commands. You seemed too frustrated with them at the time.

Okay well, I've figured that since the adbdriver is on top of the search results it must be safe. Plus, when I went into Programs & Files and looked for it, it seems like the maker/publisher is ClockworkMod and I've definitely heard of them before so it definitely made me feel easier. I also remember going to VirusTotal and scanning the setup program and the results came out positive; not negative. With that, I will conclude this help thread!
