I can't add contact to Whatsapp

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 6.0.

I downloaded, installed and uninstalled Whatsapp a whole bunch of times. It is stuck with 17 contacts and will not recognize any other contacts no matter what I do. Help!

Try this:
  • Open up your "Contacts" app
  • Tap the menu icon on the top left
  • Scroll down and tap "Settings"
  • Make sure "Contacts to display" is set to "All contacts"
  • Go back into WhatsApp
  • Go into the App Settings
  • Tap on "Contacts"
  • Make sure "Show all contacts" is selected
If this doesn't work, I'd then go into your app tray, tap and hold on the whatsapp icon and drag it into the "App info" option at the top of the screen. Make sure the permissions are set to allow contacts. You could also go into Storage on this screen and clear data and cache, but be warned this will likely delete your chat history and other information you've saved in WhatsApp so backup your files first if you care what's in there.

Let us know if this works!

Make sure you have the county code added to the contacts. There's an app called number fixer to add county code to many contacts at once
