I cant "pinch" the screen on my galaxy 4 note to add or remove widgets??

Im probably doing something wrong but i cant pinch the screen to reveal the trash can? I have just purchased the phone and wanted to personalise the home screen!?

Just long press on the item you wish to delete.
The trashcan should then appear, then, drag and drop........

I'm assuming you tried long pressing (without releasing) on an icon (or widget) and drag that item to the top (middle) of the screen until it turns red to delete?

yeah, ^^^^^ what he said, you don't pinch the screen, you long press the screen

are you in easy mode? settings> easy mode. change to standard.
