I accidentally deleted the Lenovo system launcher on my tablet. Since then I have been using smart launcher that is available on play store. Now can I factory reset my device,is there any way I could download the default launcher or can I make the smart launcher app a system app???

You presumably are rooted if you did this, so you could see whether Titanium Backup can make your current launcher into a system app (I can't remember whether the free version has this option or only the paid, as I've had the paid one for almost 7 years).

If you have a custom recovery you should use it to back up the device first (I'd always do this before attempting to alter the system). If not then you could temporarily install an extra launcher first, in case something goes wrong.

Or you could find out how to reflash the device (I don't know the tools for Lenovo), though that would unroot you too.

Like you just uninstall or delete from system. All default apps are in system/app folder like apk where you can find them and install them

I do know where the apps are, but "uninstall" will delete the files (and there is no distinct "delete" option). Hence I can see no difference.

Next there is folder app and priv-app

In these folders you have default apk files

You can delete it (not recommended) or install them again

All these applications are installed when you install a rom,

Ok, you are using a file manager. Sure, you can delete with that, but uninstall using system menu, or utilities such as Titanium, also removes the apk, which is why I didn't think there was any important distinction between uninstall and delete (though manual deletion is more likely to leave orphaned parts of the formerly installed app).

Anyway its getting off topic for the OP's question.

Same thing happened to me, but it wasn't an accident. Now let's see...

Can I reset my phone to factory settings?
Yes. I had totally forgotten that I've deleted the default launcher when I resetted my phone, so it was just a blank. However, there's a trick you can do. But how are you going to download a launcher when you don't have one? How are you going to even open Play Store? Well... You can still open the notification bar, thus you can access the settings app from there. When you get to the settings, go to the Apps section. Find Play Store. You can open it from there. Then download the launcher you want, there you have a launcher. So it is a bit scary when you don't know about smartphones but, you can still make it.

Is there a way to download my old default launcher?
Search the internet by the phone's model. If you can't find it, you can't download it of course. But there's still something you can do. I don't remember the name of it but there is an app that can turn all of the apps to an apk file. So if you know someone that can help you with that, go and ask him to download that app, turn the default launcher to an apk file, have him send it to you. But I don't know how you can integrate it to the system so that whenever you reset your phone to the factory settings again it will recognize it as the system's default stock launcher.

To the op..Unfortunately a master reset won't do..it will bring back your phone to the same state you left it on..difference is just to factory look without the ones you deleted, uninstalled, expired, fired, killed, desiced(any way..you pick the one that suites you better..LoL)..my advise..the only thing that will bring back your original launcher is an UNBRICK procedure..let me know.
