I don't understand how the $30 prepaid is working

My balance is showing $39.70 and I have used my 100 minutes.

However, when I try to place a call I get a message that says I am unable to because my minutes have been used.

I thought after the 100 minutes are used it starts taking from my balance.

Am I missing something?

I don't have this plan, but have read it is indeed a 10 cents per minute charge over 100 minutes. Not sure when they deduct the money though. Hopefully someone who has the plan will chime in :)

With the $30 "Walmart" plan, they take the $30 out of your account at the start of the month and, in exchange, credit you the 100 minutes and 5GB high speed data. When you run out of minutes, they deduct the $.10/minute as you use the minutes. When your account runs out of money, they no longer allow calls.

The T-Mobile app on your phone can show you how many of your 100 minutes you've used, as well as the data you've used. It should also show the balance on your account and allow you to add money. Or you can get the same information (minutes and data use, account balance) on the web from my.t-mobile.com.
