i dropped my htc desire c

after i dropped it, the battery and back cover fell out. screen looks fine.
the phone went black and it won't charge or turn on anymore.
i've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in but still nothing.
one of the forums said to replace the battery. should i try that ?

If it stopped working after a fall then something's broken, and it's far more likely to be a connection on a circuit board than the battery itself. So I would expect that replacing the battery would be a waste of money, and you need to get the phone repaired.

If you know anyone else with a Desire C you could try swapping batteries for a minute. That would tell you straight away whether the battery was the problem.
