I dropped my phone and I can't see anything on the screen but the phone vibrates and makes sounds.

I dropped my Motorola Motorola G4 on the ground. Now the only thing that appears is a bit of light on the upper corner of the phone. I can still hear the phone ring as well as alarms. I have tried to press the power and volume buttons simultaneously for one minute to no avail. I have heard advice like taking the battery out and pressing the power button for one minute but I don’t know if I can remove the battery without ruining it. Can I fix this on my own or do I have to take it to a shop?

I don't think pulling the battery is something that pertains to your described problem, but if you think otherwise you might be better off just unplugging the battery connector and then plugging in back in rather than actually pulling it out.

The battery in your G4 is glued into place so actually removing it requires careful work. Don't just pry it out because if you bend it that will be a major problem as smartphone batteries just aren't touted for being flexible.

As for your display problem, it does sound like your phone is still functional but the display is either damaged, or perhaps the connector between the display and the motherboard was knocked loose during that accidental drop and just needs to be re-seated. I'd take it to a service shop and have them check it out.

If you have a ubreakifix store in your town I would go them. Decent prices work is insured for six months
