I found a fitbit

I don't pay much attention to exercise fads, but I'm aware enough to know what a fitbit is. Anyway, I found one in a public place at work. I set it aside in a place where people often go to look for things lost in the building, but it's been a week and no one has asked. Is there a way for me to get this back into the hands of its owner? Are they registered through the manufacturer with an imprinted number that I could contact them and they could contact the owner?

I can't imagine it's cheap, so I'd like to do the right thing without attempting to hack into it as that just seems creepy.

It maybe uniquely identifiable to its rightful owner. Think like with many of these fitness tracking and recording tech products, you have to register online with an email address that's verified.

The owner could be looking at this page right now...

I'll have to take a closer look at it tomorrow to see if there is a serial, mac address, or other identifying number etched into it that I could present to the manufacturer.

Almost certain it's going to at least a Bluetooth MAC address and maybe some kind of unique ESN, but it depends if Fitbit HQ can identify the owner from that.
