I have a 2.2 Android TV system. Need upgrade!

I just bought an Android TV running on 2.2 last week. Just realised that it is an old version of Android.

Now I find out that not only is there a new version (2.3) that it cannot play my 1080p videos properly.

What a pain! Somebody please offer help. Also, how can I upgrade firmware? Does that help? 3.0? even ice cream sandwich (4.0)?

What kind of box are you using? Do note that 3.0 is a tablet only OS and ICS4.0 needs a dual core cpu so it will most likely not run on your box.
