Okay so my provider is Qlink Wireless i got a phone from them, however, they had an option to allow me to use my Nexus 6 as my primary phone so i switched.

So here is the question

Do i have to use my old sim card from my old minute phone to my nexus 6 or do i have to wait till a new sim comes in via mail?

You have to wait. A sim simply identifies your account and your old sim is the wrong provider. If you transferred your phone number to Qlink when they port your number to their network, then the old sim will no longer handle phone calls. That said, if you still have minutes left on your old sim, feel free to use them up. The port probably won't be effective until you activate the new sim anyway.
