I have no idea..!

Hi all

I'm completely clueless when it comes to tech stuff - even the easy stuff, which I'm about to demonstrate.

I got the Galaxy S 2 in Aug 2011 and love it. However, I'm use to using iPod touch and all things Apple so it's taken me time to get used to Droid.

My problem is: when I connect my phone to PC via USB, nothing happens. The computer doesn't notice I'm connected! It never used to do this but in the last few weeks the phone keeps turning itself off. Arethe 2 connected?

I'm told I should back the phone up and reboot...I don't even know how to back it up (told you I was clueless!)

Really hope someone can help as I've got a great phone but feel like I'm missing out on using it properly!!!

Right click on My Computer, click properties, click the the hardware tab, click device tab. Do that while the phone is connected. Right click on the Samsung item in the device manager, click uninstall. Disconnect the phone from the computer, reconnect the phone. Windows should reinstall the drivers.

Phone restarting on its own might be caused by an app that youve installed. That happened to me.

That sounds good. The only thing I should have added is that my wife got the same phone as me last week and hers connects fine. I don't want to mess things up for her?

It shouldn't mess things up for her, but now that you've mentioned that your wife's phone is recognised by the computer, it sounds like the problem lies elsewhere. Does your pnone not even start recharging when it's connected to the computer? It might be a faulty USB cable, try the cable from your wife's phone.

Well you can certainly reboot the phone. If you mean backup then do a factory reset, yes that's a good idea.
