I hope VZW doesn't try to ape AT&T on this one....

AT&T Chokes Unlimited Data Dead. Dead Dead Dead.

Basically, here is the gist:

Starting October 1, smartphone customers with unlimited data plans may experience reduced speeds once their usage in a billing cycle reaches the level that puts them among the top 5 percent of heaviest data users. These customers can still use unlimited data and their speeds will be restored with the start of the next billing cycle. Before you are affected, we will provide multiple notices, including a grace period.

Actually, there was a leaked Verizon memo from February discussing the same thing. If I'm not mistaken, they are already doing this (it was supposed to start in Feb or March). I remember calling in and going round and round with Verizon CSRs about it. They just told me there is nothing to worry about, that you would have to be pretty high (like around 10GB+) for this to occur.

I believe it was anyone who signed up after February 3rd.
