I'm sick and tired of hearing about how much people hate TouchWiz. I want to hear specific reasons WHY you hate it. Here's what I love about it:
The only thing I don't care for with TouchWiz is the launcher, but that can easily be replaced (I use LauncherPro).
So does everybody hate all of these things that I love, or are there other things that are annoying?
I had stock on my last Android phone, and I definitely prefer the improvements that TouchWiz has added.
- Buttons to toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Silent, and Auto-rotation inside the notification bar
- The glass lock-screen (swipe in any direction, not just from one side to the other)
- Music controls on the lock screen and in the notification bar (when the music app is open)
- HD video recording (not available on stock Android)
- Task manager (long-press the home button)
- Smart T9 dialer (start typing somebody's name in the keypad and their number will show up)
- The speed dial functionality
- Notification icons (in my opinion, prettier than stock, even Gingerbread)
- The quick-scroll-by-letter inside the music player and contact browser (similar to that found on the iPhone)
- The inclusion of a stopwatch and timer inside the clock app
- Swipe left on a contact to text-message him/her... swipe right to call him/her (instead of tapping on the contact, then tapping on the phone number, then choosing to text/call)
- The My Files and Memo apps
- The ability to compose text messages to multiple recipients within the default messaging app
- The ability to toggle mobile data in the power menu
The only thing I don't care for with TouchWiz is the launcher, but that can easily be replaced (I use LauncherPro).
