Accessories I need a tip where to get misc hardware (micro usb)

I have a few devices with broken charge ports and I want to replace them. The usual suspects show no replacements for a generic port @ a reasonable price. 2 of these devices are Bluetooth speakers and just need a new Port soldered on ( I meant to get to it later and then lost the original) the other is actually a phone and I haven't looked at it but I'm afraid I might need a specific port for it. Any advice on where to pick these things up for a small price would be awesome. Also if this is the wrong section I apologize :)

I usually forget about eBay, honestly. I guess I'm just kind of a fraidy cat and prefer the other big names (Amazon and Newegg) I'll take a look though.

Another thing that I was nervous about is that it seems there might not be a generic port to use. Most of the ones I have looked t are device specific. I am confident I can solder a new one on there, but nervous about choosing the right one. I can tell you the devices if it would help, but I'd rather hear how to make sure I get the right one (if there is a method for differentiation) thanks again for all the help guys

Edit: found some generics is 30 Seconds! Sweet. I still don't know if there is a big difference between the "branded for specific device" models and the generics.

For the most part, a connector is a connector. If you are looking for a micro-USB port, for instance, that is a standardized part and any will do.

The parts that are labeled for specific models are done that way for the ease of identification for users like yourself.

Connectors are pretty easy, and oftentimes are the same between multiple models from a specific maker (laptop power connectors are a huge exception).

Some manufacturers also have online parts catalogs which you can peruse: I have upgraded a few HP laptops using parts from different models because many use the same main-board, information I gleaned from their parts site (and the components purchased from eBay, using official HP part numbers).

Your best bet is to look at the broken component and see if there are any identifying marks on it.

I've never had a whole lot of luck with manufacturer site and part catalogues. I found what I needed right on eBay (like I said I never look there because I'm a fraud cat) and I know the parts will be fine for 2 of the 3 items I'm trying to fix. As for the third, I'll just have to file it.
