i need alot of help with my rooted eris update

Ok so I have a rooted eris with a non froyo 2.1 and i heard about this kaosfroyo 2.2 and so I deleted the previous file used to get 2.1 from my SD card and put the kaosfroyo on the SD card. i now did the restart were you hold the volume down button and turn the phone back on and that all works but when it looks in the SD card all it tries to find is the previous 2.1 file and doesn't reconize the new froyo one. Any suggestions would be great help,thanks

its not working because youre doing it wrong.......... press vol UP and power button to boot into recovery...... from there find the option to flash zip.... it will then look at your SD and give you the options of what to flash...... select the rom you want then it will ask you to verify...... then it will flash it........ then youll need to reboot

Vol DOWN was the only way it worked on my Eris...
