I only have 4Gb Internal memory and Its full without installing apps

Joanne M

Lurker
I have been bought an LG K4 (2017) for my birthday and I Installed Facebook and Messenger just about
and it's full is the internal storage. I have inserted SD Card *Gbytes inside, I read I need 32 Gbytes for
Marshmallow (Where everything including system runs off the SD Card).

I had 18 apps installed on the Motorola and it was a cheap phone, I had 26 Apps installed on my Samsung Galaxy S4. I just couldn't believe that LG K4 has such little internal storage.

Can anyone help me, give me tips on what I should do ?

It's not true that the OS can move to SD with Marshmallow. It's also not true that Marshmallow requires 32GB.

But from what I've been able to find out the K4 (2017) should already be on Marshmallow (which you'd expect from a 2017 phone, since MM came out in 2016), and the smallest version should have 8GB storage. Now if you mean you have 4GB available to you that's possible (the system partitions will take at least 4GB), but what Android version is your phone running?

The problem is that I don't know whether LG will let you format the SD card as internal - not all manufacturers include that feature in their implementations of the OS. But inefficient as FB and Messenger are they should not eat 4GB. Check how much space they are actually using, and what other apps are using your space. Disabling system apps that you don't use will erase their data and any updates, so that will recover some space for you. There are also "lite" versions of FB and Messenger which should take up less space than the standard (bloated) ones, though you can also just use a browser for FB.
