I swore off message boards in 2003, but I'm looking forward to this.

I was 17 in 2003, and the message boards that turned me off the idea were all about street racing, techno music and other things I'm embarrassed to admit I was that into back then.

College educated industrial designer, husband, father, old school nerd. Cut my teeth on TNG and played DnD right up until my player pool dried up. I love computers and tinkering. I'm not super comfortable on a command line but I can follow directions and copy/paste like a boss.

I'm a long time Linux user though, and now that I'm really getting my hands dirty in android, I'm coming across questions that I might be able to help answer and relying too heavily on other people's work to not be attempting to contribute.

I'm a recovering Mac user (now that my MBP's battery has kicked the bucket, I'll finally get to purge the last iProduct from my arsenal). I'm not anti-apple, they're just not for me, and I'm getting pretty sick of the whole anti-competitive, anti-innovation bit.

Like I said, in looking forward to a new experience with forums, you guys seem like nice people.
