I want ONE notification for my emails

I am currently running Android for Nook on my Nook - straight Android OS.

I downloaded myMail for Android to consolidate all my emails in one place.

Problem is I get notified on my Gmail, and AGAIN for the same one on myMail.

Q: How do I stop the double notification?

Tempted to just uninstall Gmail off my Nook, but don't know the consequences....could I just disable it?

> You can also turn off notifications for the gmail app.

Just to elaborate, the quickest way to access app notification settings is by long-pressing the notification next time it pops up.

I know of three ways to accomplish this.
  1. Uncheck "Show notifications"
  2. Remove Gmail's knowledge of your mail accounts by clearing its cache and data
  3. Uninstalling Gmail (or Disabling it, if is a pre-installed system app)
All of the above are accomplished from Settings > Manage apps. I would not recommend #3 as it will also disable seemingly unrelated functions. For example, I had disabled Gmail only to discover that the Google Now "Note to self" function stopped working (even though I had another app installed that handled that function).
