I want to delete a voicemail app

I recently purchased a used Moto E that has a built-in voicemail app.

It launches every time I power up the phone but I don't want it. I use Google Voice for my voicemail. How do I permanently get rid of it?

Possibly it's a system voicemail app from some carrier? Is it a carrier version Moto E you've got there? If it's a system app, you likely can't remove it, not without rooting the phone. You might be able to disable and hide it though, from settings, so it won't run at startup.

When you say it launches, you mean the screen for the app pops up or the phone lists it as running?

I cleared the cache and forced stop and that did the trick. It is still installed but at least it doesn't launch. How do I mark this as "answered"?

If it problems you again hook it to a computer with android device bridge installed and

Code:
adb shell
Code:
pm list packages

at that point find the packages name(may be a little different than the app's name)

and issue
Code:
 pm hide com.some-package-name

and after that it should never show again until a reset

Glad you got it solved ,
and thanks for updating !
