I will upgrade when...

I have set minimum specs for my upgrade. They are fairly high, but should be available in the foreseeable future...

Here they are:

Quad core processor 1.5ghz or higher
2gb ram
ICS stock
NFC chip
720p resolution screen
4.5-5.0 inch screen

These points are non negotiable.

So lets start betting who's going to make it and when it'll be available!

I'm going with htc and late summer.

You had me until you mentioned the ridiculously big screen. Swap that out for a 4-4.25" screen and I'm in.

EDIT: I'd also add in a second gen LTE chip and a 3000+ mAh battery. Especially if you insist on that gargantuan screen.

the samsung galaxy note is already pretty close, just need another gig of memory and the quad core proc versus the current dual core.. its already got the huge screen. 5.3" i think.

I'll upgrade when the boss says it's ok!!

Hmmm.... that quad core will be sweet... but i hope the battery can last for more than a quarter day though:) A large screen is good as i'm getting blind i mean getting old. It used to be that people buy tiny phones. Now it seems people want big phones and so do i!!

bye

I'm guessing we're not gonna see 2GBs of ram in any phone this year.

So if your requirements in a phone are non-negotiable, you're going to be keeping your current phone for quite some time.

Maybe. It would be nice if the ram was upgradable. Then I suppose I could settle for 1 gig. Otherwise, my droid x is still kickin.

Yeah, I have an "X" also. Absolute best phone I ever had. (Boy, hope that doesn't jinx me....)

Actually there aren't any phones out now that I'd want to upgrade to, and my 20 months were up yesterday. Right now I'm hoping some cool phones are going to be announced at CTIA. But that doesn't happen until May I think.... so I'm just waiting.

Sound like you're waiting on the Samsung Galaxy III. :)
BTW, me too.

X here also. Best phone ever, that's why nothing from Verizon has enticed me to upgrade yet. Had a scare the last couple of days. Caught in a heavy rain and my earpiece stopped working. I was afraid I was gonna have to upgrade before my dream phone arrives. One bag of rice and about 10 hours later and my X is up and running fine again. Great phone!
