Ice Cream Sandwich less SENSE

so i was given a HTC Jetstream, and i dig it, and looking at the specs, the thing should fly, but its damn laggy while doing stuff as basic as moving between home screens and browsing the web... after doing a little reading i found that many people seem to attribute the failing of honeycomb on the jetstream to htc's android overlay(or whatever its called). So since ice cream sandwich is coming out very soon (i assume) and the jetstream has the specs to handle it, i wanted to wipe the device and put a fresh install of STOCK ice cream sandwich on the tablet to hopefully really whip it into shape. is this possible? i know its possible with the phones to screw around with it like that, i assume it would be the same for the tablets.

and if it is possible, could someone point me in the direction of where i could find a quick how-to on stripping the device and setting it up with a fresh install

if you can root it along with the bootloader i think you can, have you looked around for root already?
