Ice Cream Sandwich Update

How do I update my Samsung galaxy S Vibrant to the Icecream Sandwich update? Right now I have the basic 2.1 and I mainly need to update it because the phone runs slow and I need the google market so I can access certain apps.

Wow, Ice Cream Sandwich from Eclair is quite a leap! It is possible that your phone's hardware simply won't support it (lack of memory, slow processor, etc.). Unless Samsung and the carrier release the official Ice Cream Sandwich update for it (which I highly doubt they will), then the highest the phone will officially go is Android 2.2 Froyo.

There is a way, though: you would have to root & install a custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROM. This Thread tell you what's out there... the Vibrant "All Things Root" section can help you do that if you're feeling bold enough to do it. But it will play havoc with your phone as far as low memory issues, slow functionality, and such. Hope this helps.
