Yes, download the files and enlarge them with Photoshop using the .pdf files (or you could do a less detailed enlarge by using Paint or any other image application you have, and use the .jpg or .gif or whatever else he has in there besides .pdf). However, depending on how large they currently are, you may not be able to go much larger if at all. They need to fit the dimension requirements of dock icons.

Try using a different font, or lowering the spacing/width of each letter in Photoshop. If you have the icon the same size, but a larger / thinner font, it won't be so small.

Try using Desktop Visualizer. Instead of creating a shortcut, add it as a widget.

The icon on the far left is a normail shortcut. The middle icon is a widget using Desktop Visualizer using the Small size. The far right icon is a widget using Desktop Visualizer usinf the Middle size. There are many more options for sizes as well. Keep in mind, the bigger you go, the more detail you lose unless you use a bigger image. I hope this helps.
