Root ICS ever?

I'm just looking for a general sense from the rooters and romers out there--does anyone think an ICS rom will ever come to the Droid 2?

I got my D2 on launch day, so I'm going to be eligible for an upgrade late next month. I'd like to hold off and run out the end of my contract so I have the option to switch carriers (I'm thinking Sprint or someone that allows me to buy an unlocked phone and get a cheaper plan). But I'm not going to make it if I can't get ICS running on the phone.

You may get something ICS looking, but with the locked bootloader on it, the kernel will not be updated. Are you running stock now? I stretched my D2's life as a daily driver with a custom ROM (I'll let you know which one when I get home, my son still uses it for games). That really sped it up and gave it new life.

I don't know if this will post correctly I'm new on this site, been on other forums a while.

I'm using this right now. The kernel version is listed as "2.6.32.9-gca08d89
bmvq37@zin22lnxdroid28 #1"
