Help ICS update for UK

Have just been updated to ICS (4.04) on my UK Razr Maxx
Apart from not being very impressed with the Icons as preferred the original icons on Gingerbread (2.3.6) but no biggie.
Now my push email from gmail or AOL will not auto connect and give "you have email alert" as gingerbread did. Also have lost the universal inbox widget that came with the default Razr Android.
Is there any way to get the push email working again as all the account settings are same as before and it does connect if I open the either email app and tell it to sync.

Did you do any type of factory or data wipe?

I did nothing except click on the update option as did not know that I needed to wipe phone.
And I do not know how to do a factory or data wipe.

Solved only lack of knowledge of ICS.
Found a setting in 'Accounts & Sync' at top sync was turned off on slider.
I also did a factory reset of phone and re added my data but don't think this was really necessary.
