Help Ideos won't power on - red light when charging... HELP!!

bener

Lurker
Hi there,

I have plugged a somewhat dubious car charger into my Ideos this morning when it was dead flat. It said it was charging and even powered up, but when I tried to turn it on next time I have nothing.

When I got home I plugged it into a wall charger and all I am getting is a red light - not the orange charging light. Also I have no 'charging' screen and cannot power on.

I am guessing I may have killed the battery at the least so I have ordered a new one.
Can anybody help me?

Cheers,
Bener.

My husband is having exactly the same problem but he has only used the supplied charger. I have the same phone with no problems..
Can't do anything to reboot it.
Has anyone found the answer as we are thinking it is the battery ?

Thanks for any help.

I've just got the same phone (Ideos U8150) about two weeks ago. The battery started getting really poor the last couple of days, literally lasting a couple of hours and after it dying at lunchtime today, I can't even get it to power up now. When I plug it in, I get a red led light in the top right corner. This light comes on when the phone's plugged in with or without the battery inserted. It's the same light whether I have the phone plugged into my laptop or the a/c adaptor. Any ideas of what's wrong and how to get my phone working?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with my phone but was using the correct charger and only noticed after my phone ran out of battery.. can anyone help on how to fix this?

Having the same problem.First started off that the battery level would jump all over place, then would take many hours to charge and now phone will not boot up consistently even when the battery is removed and the power is connected.
When is does intermittently boot up and plugged in with the battery it does not seem to charge.
I have bought a new battery from ebay to see if the problem is the battery or the phone. Waiting for it to arrive.
Any other ideas?

Hey there,

is there any solution for this problem? I have some more details

- there is a dark red light, but the phone is not charging, I am not able to turn on the phone
- massaging the power-button without any battery inserted and a USB-AC-cable plugged in, I am able to start the phone and use it.
- now, after starting the phone, I inserted the battery and the red light turned orange, it is charging pretty fast (too fast, in my opinion).

Any ideas? Solutions?
Regards,
Dominik

Phone was off, but had red light on constant.

I turned it on, put the charger on. It's charging. 48% but the red light is still on constant. Never had this happen before.

Ideas?

i have the same problem it seems this kind of android is the stupid one now am looking for the other one but you can try this.

1.take out the battery and then try to re charge somewhere else ,i.e mine am using chines chines external charger and when i put it back and try to charge via phone charge it works .
- 2.make sure ur phone charge does not endup below 20 % you wont get that prob

The red light means it is charging but is less than 10% but if its still flashing it isn't charging

Make sure your Micro USB connector is plugged in the RIGHT way.
It sounds as though you have bad connections as Low Battery light will not continue to indicate when the charger is working correctly.
It shows ORANGE steady - and when the battery level comes up to about 92% charge - the light changes to GREEN steady.
Make sure that the SIM card is inserted fully and that the MicroSD card is fully home. Cheers Neil.;)

If you use this Hash Code - you can get info about the Health of your battery.
Dial: *#*#4636#*#* and the screen will show a number of choices to look at. Cheers Neil.

I realize this forum may be outdated, but I wanted to share what worked for me. I have a Android Fusion 2. I have been experiencing the same issues with my phone, and was under the impression that it was my battery. I do not know if this is going to work for everyone, but this is what worked for me. I took my battery out and placed it back in. Then, attached my phone to my laptop. I held down my power button for 10 seconds, and allowed it to rest for 10 seconds after doing this a total of four times my phone powered up. I was amazed, because I thought it was not going to turn back on. I hope this works for your Android phone also..... : )

Hi kelly89,
Thanks for your input, but I think it may be too late for the guys who experienced the problem. Anything is worth a go when these funny situations occur so I hope your experience may help others. Cheers Neil.
