I've been trying to sideload the 5.0 OTA files but it always aborts and says status 7 . I'm guessing its cause I have a old radio flash not 4.4.4 radio. Also when I get the 5.0 OTA will it Install or will I get this error again

If it contains a new radio, no it wont work.

You'll need to flash the factory image, or at least the parts you want

I tried flashing the 5.0 image but says it was missing system.IMG so I'm downloading the 4.4.4 image and if I flash the 4.4.4 radio the 5.0 OTA should the. Sideload with no problem right.

Flash each portion of the 5.0 image separately.

"fastboot flash x xfilename.img"

bootloader
radio
cache
userdata
boot
system

Are you in TWRP??? I did not side-load the OTA but compiled and flashed ASOP in fastboot minus the recovery image, replaced the ASOP image with TWRP then after using fastboot to flash my build rebooted into TWRP to side-load Gapps and SuperSu. Took a few tries before realizing I had to hit the slider first before giving the ADB command. Forget the error I received but had thought I would first give the command and then hit the slider after but was the other way around. Could at that point just installed them both with TWRP but had wiped storage flashing the ASOP Images and the Windows 7 laptop I was using at the time would not pick up mtp but had no problem with ADB or Fastboot.

Off subject but just looked at about phone and just now noticed it is LRX21V,

Must have downloaded the wrong branch because LRX21V shows up as for Nexus Player.

Runs like a champ though without any issue and so much prefer not using Hangouts for messaging though the new Google messaging app on the Market is much better than the ASOP version. Looks like one change I will be making. Otherwise its back to work again.

Not sure how I ended up with 2 posts but still need to learn a bit more about ASOP. Have been building CM and other Roms for years now but am new to pure ASOP builds. I did another Repo SYNC and compiled the source and flashed after work and now I am on 5.0.1. LRX22C. Again all seems to work like a charm but wonder if I gain anything yet from 5.0.1 LRX22C as is listed as a N7 / N9 release. I just received the ota on my N9. Still waiting for 5.0 on the N7 as was purchased by my work for testing and after hours support reasons and keep both N7 & 9 100% pure Stock.
