Help If I take the battery out of my LG G2 Phone, will I lose all of my personal data?

All of a sudden, my phone just decided not to turn on. The lights on the back that are usually glowing are not. It seems as if the power button isn't working, but I plugged it into the charger and it doesn't seem to sense that either. It is unresponsive to everything I do, and I am afraid to take the battery out or try anything else because I do not want to lose all of my contacts and photos. So basically I am wondering if I take the battery out, will it reset the phone?

Hi

No, you should be OK, data is stored in memory that does not require the battery present. I suggest you take it out for at least 30 seconds and see if that helps. While it is out, hold the power key down. That should totally turn the phone off.

Maybe the battery has failed? have you tried leaving it on charge for a few hours?

Yes I have left it on the charger for a whole day and nothing seemed to happen. I might try taking the battery out, but I'll have to see if I have insurance first. It's good to know that I won't lose my data if I do decide to remove the battery. Thanks for the help!
