Illustrations in Google Calendar

Google Calendar on my tablet has an option in Settings to show more events by turning off seasonal illustrations. However my phone doesn't have this option. This seems odd to me.

Both devices are Samsung, and both are running the same version of the calendar.

Why is this?

If it helps, you're not the only one. There are a lot of users at the Google Calendar Help Forum observing the same - the seasonal illustrations can be disabled on tablets but not on phones. This even carries over to the iOS versions!

There aren't any workarounds as far as I'm aware, and I also can't fathom why Google would have made this particular design decision. It won't necessarily fix it, but I'd suggest that you use the Send feedback option inside the app to let Google know what you think.
