IM app that only notifies new threads

Hi guys

DOes anyone know a multi-system (MSN, gtalk, facebook etc.) IM client that gives you the option to only do audio notification on a NEW THREAD?

I'm using meebo right now and its great except how it beeps at me with every frickin message. But if I turn it off it won't beep if a new msg comes in on a new conversation and that's no good either. What's needed is a beep on a NEW conversation and no beeps if the conversation is existing...

I can't believe this feature is not there, any tester would have noticed this within 10 minutes lol

I have wanted the same thing.

IM apps on Android are currently severely lacking IMO. Meebo kind of sucks and hasn't been updated for high res screens yet (STILL), and eBuddy kills the battery. Neither notifies only of new threads.

I wish there was one like the IM+ I had on my BB Curve 8330 that has the push notification. I found this very useful as I work in a hospital and so my signal comes and goes. So I would set my IM+ to push mode and when I got signal, I would receive my IM's via a text message and could respond back via text message. I really loved this feature and just wish there was a Multi IM program on Android/HTC Hero that had this.
