I'm fed up with the Epic Touch!

Hello all,

I need some advice. I got this phone after having the original EVO. Never had any problems with that phone until the screen went a little crazy. I was just going to get it fixed but since I was eligible for an upgrade I got this phone. The call quality is mediocre. Although I don't have dropped calls, people keep telling me I sound far away or broken up. Second, I live and work in Philly and I keep losing my signal in the middle of Center City, in City Hall, no less! The latest thing the phone won't do is tether and the GPS is useless. What gives? Have any of you had these problems? I've called Sprint but they say nothing is wrong. I went to the Sprint store and they said the same thing. Am I going insane? Please help!

Thanks!

Hoya :(

I also lose signal out of nowhere get less bars then my original evo and battery isn't what people hype it to be I only had this phone for 5days and I'm already getting tired of it maybe I'm tired of android maybe it's time for me to try apple

Hi June! I'm thinking the same thing, except I'm past the return date and Sprint won't help even though I've been a customer for 12 years and never complained about any phone I've had before. However I have to do something because I used this as my home phone and for work. Can't have the freaking phone useless in the middle of the city!

I would pressure sprint to get a replacement to see if it makes a difference, there my be something wrong with yours. I have noticed that signal strenght is not as good, but never to the point it affects call quality or losing signal altogether, but then again I am not in the same city. Sprint signal may be particularly bad there. Worth a try though. Good luck!

I'll try again, but they haven't budge so far. I went to the Apple store yesterday and played with the Sprint iphone on 3g only and it was quite fast. If I cant resolve the issue I may be getting that.

Yea same I'm not home alot I make alot of calls n text n music my phone has to get me through the day now that I'm a busy man i just called sprint I'm actually 5days in so I got 9 left to get an iPhone though they want a 35$ restocking fee I might pay been a long supporter of htc SAMSUNG and android but apple here I come I will try to talk to them if i were u or sell your phone online and get the iPhone or see if you can find a trade on craigslist

So you think the iPhone 4S will be faster, better call quality and better battery life? Thats hysterical. You must not know anyone who has one. Might want to have a look at the 80 pages of problems here first...Data is useless on the phone in most areas and the call quality sucks, my friends are ready to throw theirs out a window. Battery life isn't great either.

Sprint Community: iPhone 4S on 3G data network too slow...

There is an east fix there's a bug thats forcing icalender I believe its called to sync non stop turn that off and your good and honestly who's going to fix there problems first apple on the iphone or SAMSUNG on the touch I won't be surprised when SAMSUNG stops updating the epic touch cause they got new phones out and as for service where I'm from both phones get similar download speeds

well..I had the Evo since it first came out,and recently got the epic. I get better reception in certain place than I ever got with the Evo.I haven't had any problems at all with my epic and have the say the screen versus the Evo is far and away better. I my girlfriend has the iPhone 4gs on sprint service and she tells me the reception at times is not good and wishes the screen was bigger when browsing the web, etc. She is going to returit for the epic..just wanted to throw my two cents in..thanks

Hmmm...the iphone is fast in an Apple store...you don't think they'd....nahhhh

Things that bug me about this phone... the speakerphone is so quiet I can barely hear it. The GPS can take over five minutes to lock on. Rebooting the phone usually fixes this but only temporarily. But why should I have to reboot to use my GPS? (luckily the phone DOES reboot fast!) The compass is practically useless unless I wave the phone in the air like a crazy man (large figure 8's) to calibrate it. Although I do have 4G in my area, I can only access it outside. Inside my house there's no 4G and the 3G is slow at about 300Kbs! My old TP2 could easily achieve 3G speeds of 1.1Mbs inside my home.

I read all these posts and i guess I just got lucky. I have had no issues whatsoever and love this phone. The only thing I might complain about is the swype isn't as smooth as it was on my atrix. Hope everyone's issues get worked it, this is the best phone I've had.

It looks like nothing has changed over at Samsung....sad!

Had 3 SAMSUNG phones before I had my evo and promised I would of never went back then I was like maybe they deserve a second chance(a forth for me) and the phone is great and all but I mean come on LOS and this battery bug and gps bug shouldn't be here love the phone n all but come on SAMSUNG

I absolutely love this phone!! So colorful and the camera is pretty damn awesome!! Only complaint i have about this phone is the signal. I think i got a little better service with my 3d than this phone. Im getting about 3 bars in my apartment which i should say these apartments block out reception a whole lot. Today it was on 1 or 2 bars for a long time which kinda of sucks since i live in the county and not out in the boondocks...
