SO I'm thinking about getting the milestone xt701 or huawei ideos.

I just want a phone at&t can't stick me with a data plan for.

ideos doesn't have 3g..so I'm wondering how much taht is going to mess with me when my brother decides to send me random video's..

Although despite a lack of 3g bands.. it still has stock froyo.. so no waiting on motorola to maybe one day possible if I beg them nicely update me.

also hauwei is a lot cheaper.. only downsides areI'm worried about the tiny screen cause I have big hands and no 3g.. so even if I'm not browsing web.. could take forever for mms which really sucks x.x

for the motorola.. I really don't like the price tag.. the processor isn't that much better.. the only real upside is the 3g bands.

Which do you guys think I should go for? The ideos should be able to have swype loaded with abit of hackery so that is kinda makin me lean towards it..

Are there any other androids that are 300$ or less that I should look at?

I was thinking about the motorola quench XT5.. but, I really don't like the look of it.. and if I'm going to have a phone on me all day every day.. I'd prefer to not htink it looks flat out ugly. if only it didn't have a trackball.

T-Mo's Motorola Defy is running Android 2.1, should get 2.2 next Jan-Mar, and is $379 retail. Processor is a little faster than the 701 (800Mhz), and has a 3.7" screen. Unlocked, it will work on AT&T's 850 3G band.

I found it for 300$ on amazon..

It said "list price 299.00$" and I was pretty happy.. till I clicked "get this phone" and when i clicked "no contract" it said "419.99" which was way over list price.

As if thats not bad enough. I checked the tmobile store online thinking maybe, I can at least get it for 379$ if maybe I'm lucky.

Well.. you can only get contract online.. No purchases without contract it said go to your local tmoble store.

So.. Did store locator.. They are all radioshacks and walmarts.. which want to charge about 499.99 without contract.. x.x

Now, I am emailing amazing demanding to know why they are listing it for one price.. and then charging OVER that just because, I am not getting a contract. I am not holding my breath.. but, I am hoping amazon will honor their own prices :/
