I'm kind of lost

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and I'm sure I'll have a annoying number of simple questions as we progress.

I just purchased a ZTE Z990G for my wife to get her off of her BB. I've been using a Samsung Galaxy for two years now, and am somewhat familiar with the system but hers is different enough to lose me.

There is a letter "E" in the status bar.

Can you tell me what that's for?

Thanks,
Ron

E = Edge... its an enhancement to 2G data, some people refer to it as 2.5G as opposed to 3G (or even 4G)

Most Android phones should be capable of 3G, so you are seeing Edge because it is either a T-mobile model on AT&T's network or vice versa. They offer 3G/4G service at different frequencies.
