Im Still on 1.0 Firmware what do i do?

so, I got the g1 from my friend, and I noticed my phone is still on the 1.0 firmware . I know there is 1.5 even a 1.6 firmware, do i wait for t mobile to update my phone or do i update manually.. I am a serious noob at this please help

If you are a serious noob, then I sugeest you wait, you will get an OTA update soon. (I'm assuming TMobile is your carrier)

within a day to a week you should get a message that there is an update, make sure your battery is charged and that you have time to upgrade it, DO NOT let anything interupt your ota update

Or grab the official 1.5 or 1.6 image and flash that (you don't need root) or you can root your phone and install any build you want,

ssshhhh preme, don't give anybody any ideas bout rooting then we gotta listen to them say that they think they have a brick when in reality it is only a boot loop
