I'm stuck with a chinese android device!

Hello all !
I went through Shanghai a few days ago and my phone got stolen in India right before that, so I needed a new phone, so I went to an official SAMSUNG shop (no copies or anything, genuine samsung store) and bought what seems to be a galaxy Ace2.

But here is the thing, I changed the langage back to English, but there is still a big bunch of remaining chinese apps, including google play I think

So I can't do anything with that damn phone since I don't understand a thing of what's going on !!! :D and of course, everything is blocked (facebook, youtube... I can't even find chrome)

The fact that I was on iOS before doesn't help either haha

Did I buy a useless phone? Is it easy/possible to install an english copy of android ?

Thanks in advance !

When you changed the language to English, you changed the Android language to English. Each app either does or doesn't support other languages - they're each on their own and have nothing to do with the language you have Android using.

If you're still in Shanghai, bring the phone back and ask if you can exchange it for an English language phone with English language apps and a non-Chinese blocking setup.

As it's a Samsung and depending on the exact model, you might be able to change the ROM or at least be able to load the Google apps services onto the Chinese software, but it will require root and some hacking probably.

Go into the settings, about phone information and can you report back the model number, kernel version, and baseband version.

hi, sorry for the delay!
the model number is gt s7562c, android 4.1.2, baseband s7562cznuami2, the kernel is 3.4.5-1391420

i hope it's possible because i dont know anything in chinese and it is getting irritating !!
