Images and videos showing up as broken image

Hi,

I have a Huawei Mate 9 and I'm currently on holidays.

Yesterdsy I put my sd card into a go pro and it did not work, so i put the card back into the phone and continued to take photos.

Now there are over 100 images which i cannot view. Oddly, a few images are working, but the majority don't.
I even was able to view one or two of them initially, but after I took out the card and put it back in, those pictures too became 'broken' and I cannot see any of them.

The details for the images are all correct. Ie file size, time, location, resolution etc. See attachment.

Any ideas?

I'm surprised the images didn't work. I thought.jpegs were standard issue across Windows, Android and Apple.

Videos are different story. It's like a "War" to set the standard.

Sorry I couldn't help.

I'm guessing the files (the photos) themselves are not your problem, it's much more likely to be an issue with your microSD card. Generally cards are going to be the weak link.
As you mentioned being on holiday this might not be an option but if you have access to a Windows system, and a way to mount your card to it (via a USB adapter or integral card slot), you could try using 'chkdsk' to repair it.

But chkdisk is for the most part just a basic utility, if those photos are irreplaceable you might want to just set that card aside until you get home to try more elaborate tools to retrieve those files and repair the card.
