IMEI Nos.

Hello Friends,
Myself Vishal and I am from India. I am new to this forum and a huge fan of android. I have samsung galaxy grand duos model name GT-I9082 having android 4.2.2 running in it.
I have several querries regarding the android and I hope all of you will help.
My question is my phone displays two IMEI nos. when I dialled *#06#(code for getting imei no. of device) on it. However there is only single number on the purchase invoice given by the vendor. I supposed this is due to the Galaxy grand is dual sim phone. Now my question is that which no. should I consider and mention while specifying warranty claims, new software updates and giving the hardware details to someone. I mean
should I specify only one of them(if so then which one), or both.
Also one more doubt is that the imei no. is given in the format like xxxxxxxxxx/01 what is the meaning & purpose of slash(/) and 01 here.
Please help me to resolve my querries.

If you pull the battery out, there should be a sticker under that battery with the IMEI number you should use.

Welcome to Android Forums.

I moved this thread form Android Lounge to the forum where your phone is discussed. There are a few threads there on similar to this subject.

Hello Sir,
First of all thank you very much for all the valuable replies. However I already checked the IMEI nos. by removing battery from device and even there are also two different nos. Now what should I do?
Also being new to the forum I didn't know where to post my question hence I posted it in the topic Android Lounge.
Please help me to solve my question regarding IMEI nos.

You can register your piece online where you will require the sr n. (which is under the battery) + a soft copy of your invoice. You can alos chat online with their support staff they also have a toll free number. For warranty you just have to show your invoice.

OK
That means in short I have to mention both the nos. then why there is a single number mentioned in invoice? Should I had to insist the vendor to type both nos. on
the invoice? Also what about the number format which is like xxxxxxxxxxxx/01. What is the meaning of /01 here?
Please help and give some detailed answer.

My friend my answer IS DETAILED, if you had used the link I provided you would have noticed that when you register your product ONLY the serial no. is asked for (see screen shot)

, NOT the IMEI. And as a user of a Samsung product I know that they ask ONLY for the invoice when you go for service. It does not matter if there is only one IMEI no. on the invoice, when you register the product & give the serial no. ALL details of that particular unit will be displayed to them when you go for service (if & and when you require it). But if this post is not acceptable to you & are still uncomfortable then you can ask your dealer to add the second number too.
