Hi all i have just flashed a new firmware and it has changed my imei number how the hell can it do this and how do i change it back to the one under the phone cover... plz help

Hi!

After flashing T959 to 2.2 IMEI of my phone changed to 004999010640000. Re-flashing to 2.1 stock didn't restore my IMEI. Fortunately (maybe not) I have somewhere the nandroid backup (which i did before the 1st flashing).

Nandroid backup can restore original nv_data.bin and nv_data.bin.md5 files and IMEI?

Thanks.

Can both of you write down which firmware you flashed? It appears that this is firmware specific.

Lethal, just try restoring the nandroid backup first, after you have removed any lagfix of course. If that doesn't work, we are going to have to figure out how to extract the imei folder from your nandroid backup.

Thanks.

The orginal firmware in my T959, when I bought it, was T959UVJI6.

I made lag fix via RYANZA. Made backup via nandroid and tried to flash NERO 3 BETA. At that time I forgot about the necessity of removal of lag fix. Of course the flashing failed. Couldnot restore the nandroid backup either. Found out about Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo in this forum and flashed the phone with it. Then by misfortune I chose T959UVJE8-factory-final-MS_Guru as stock firmware. The phone was bricked and no signs of life. I had to give it to the repair shop in order to flash bootloader. Only after that I could successfully flash both NERO 3 BETA and NERO 3 VOODOO. However I found out that IMEI changed to some strange numbers: 004999010640000.

I tried:

1) rewrite EFS clear - no result.
2) back to stock T959UVJI6 and hard reset - no result.

Yesterday I tried to restore the nandroid backup after flashing T959UVJI6, but the phone stuck in VIBRANT LOGO SCREEN. Then I had to re-write T959UVJI6. All my date was recovered??? But IMEI is nul/nul.

Any help?

I meant flashing the stock firmware by ODIN with checking "Phone EFS clear" option.

If it's possible to get EFS files from the nandroid backup? I extracted system.img in PC. But cannot find any EFS folder. All I have like efs is efsd and efsd30 files (type is unknown).

If you are using root explorer and not just some other file manager, it means that the rom has somehow deleted your efs folder. On my phone I can see the following files.

/.android
/imei
.nv2.bak
.nv_data.bak
nv_data.bin
.imei
.nv2.bak.md5
.nv_data.bak.md5
nv_data.bin.md5
.nv_state

Lethal: Make a backup of your efs folder, and then delete it. Sometimes the phone can regenerate the efs folder with the correct files. If you are lucky this just might work.
If you made your nandroid backup after you applied OCLF, it means that you are going to have to apply the lagfix first before you can restore it. Something to do with the format of the /system folder. If the nandroid backup was a full backup, the efs folder will be in there.

snapper.fishes, thanks for the suggestions.

I tried the above 2 ways, mentioned by you, but no positive result. So, the nandroid backup does not backup efs files. However I made the full backup via clockwork recovery mode.

I just did a clockwork backup to see what files it backs up.

It doesn't look good. There are 5 files. The img files probably refer to the folders in the internal SD (/system, /app and /cache). Not so sure about the other 2. But either way it doesn't look like there is a way to get the efs folder out of them, assuming that it is even backed up in the first place.

Edit: Managed to find a thread on XDA relating to this. Nothing concrete, but another user came to the same answer as me after reading all the file names.
