Import a new notification sound to hero

I have just been upgraded by Orange to a Hero.

I have a notification .amr file that I would like to use when I recieve a text message. I have the file on my sd card and whilst I can use it as a ringtone, there doesn't seem to be a way to get it to work as a notification sound.

Any ideas folks?
